The challenges of global supply chains

As you may be aware there are currently significant supply chain issues and increased freight costs being experienced in many industries across New Zealand. While the production of product itself remains largely unaffected, there are a number of challenges around shipping, many of which have arisen due to COVID 19.

Key issues include:

• Shortages in shipping capacity (particularly from Asia)
• Container availability
• Delays at the port of Auckland
• Industrial action at some Australian ports

CSP® is responding to these challenges by increasing our inventory levels where possible and leveraging our strong supplier relationships in order to limit our customers’ exposure to any future shortages.
