News Flash – Nu-Guard® 31 at reduced post height accepted

Traditionally the top of CSP’s Nu-Guard® 31 post is located 20mm above the top of the guardrail panel. Due to the potential risk to vulnerable road users, CSP have undertaken product testing to reduce the post height.

As a result of this testing the post for Nu-Guard® 31 is now located 10mm below the top of the guardrail panel. This change has been accepted by NZ Transport Agency.

The components of the system and the installation method remain the same and the height of the rail is still 635mm to the centre. Only the height of the post has changed – it has been lowered from 812mm to 780mm.

Please note that the post bolt will now never sit at the bottom of the post slot.

Existing installations of Nu-Guard® 31 can be retrofitted to the new post height by simply reducing the post height from 812mm to 780mm. The retrofit instructions are on page 22 of the revised manual.
